Hawkeye Ranching Company Ltd. is located north of Tompkins, SK in the beautiful sand hills. It is owned and operated by Leif and Melissa Brost. Leif and Melissa both grew up on family farms. Leif grew up North of Irvine, AB. Where his family started raising Purebred Herefords in the  1960's. He grew up showing cattle in 4-H and with his family. Melissa grew up North of Maple Creek, SK on a commercial cow/calf and back grounding feedlot operation. She also came through the 4-H program. Our children enjoy showing cattle and are also involved in 4-H.

Currently we run approximately 300 Angus cattle, 200 commercial and 100 purebred cattle. We are progressive breeders trying to better our genetics by sourcing the best cattle we can find. Each spring we flush our top cow to the best bulls we can find in the breed. We try to implant 60 or so embryos and AI the rest of our purebreds to top AI sires. We strive to have function females that are problem free with good feet. Our purebred cattle run alongside our commercial cattle and are not pampered. As our children are involved with daily operations are cattle must be docile and easy to handle. All the bulls we sell, we stand behind and would use anyone of them on our commercial program.   

 

We aggressively pursue the best genetics we can source and are proud of this year's offering. We stand behind our cattle so that our customers may invest in us with confidence.
